Our 1953 MG TD restoration project is now back from paint and body repair and looks fantastic. This car had lived on the east coast for many years and unfortunately had lots of rust and wood rot. Luckily, with Moss Motors right around the corner from us, we were quickly and easily able to source all the body repair panels and wood framing we needed to restore the car. For this work, we turned to our friends over at Acme Autobody here in San Luis Obispo. Rod, the owner, is a great guy and did a fantastic job repairing and restoring the body on this TD for us.
The next step for us is to get it built back up. The body is not coming off the frame on this restoration, but we’ll be rebuilding all of the suspension and brake parts all the way around. We’ll also be completely rewiring the car and going over every component making sure that everything is functioning and working correctly. Once it’s up running and driving just the way we want, we’ll get started on the upholstery.
