We’re just getting started on another Triumph restoration, but for the first time in quite a while, it’s not another Triumph Italia! We thought we’d change it up a little as we know you must getting tired of reading about Italias all the time—although we certainly hope not! 🙂 This time, we’re restoring a Triumph TR3 A that’s been living with one family for many years.
This TR3 has been brought to us to finish off a restoration that was started many years ago, but unfortunately stalled out. The car is in rough shape, but has a lot of sentimental value to the family—specifically the father and his sons. This is actually going to be a nice surprise for their dad once the restoration is completed. They restored most of the mechanicals years ago, so we’ll be going over their work to make sure it is correct, but we’ll be focusing primarily on cosmetics.
The car has suffered from significant rust and accident damage that’s previously been poorly repaired, so much of what we’ll be doing is correcting all previous damage. As you can see in the photos, we have a lot of work ahead, but the car is coming along very nicely. We hope to have the car painted British Racing Green very shortly, so please check back to watch as everything comes together.
And now, time for photos!
