1960 Triumph Italia 2000

We are now underway with our third Triumph Italia 2000 restoration. Our excitement is really building as we start to dive into the project. It’s amazing to see the differences in the three examples of this model we’ve had in our possession. As many of you know, these are very rare cars and were all 100% handmade. Just over 300 cars were produced and not one was alike. Things would change on the production line depending on what Vignale was producing at the time, as well as who was working on the car. One very noticeable difference between this car and others we have seen is that the bonnet prop rod is on the passenger side.

This particular car is in very solid, very straight condition with no visible signs of rust or serious rust. We have our fingers crossed that once this car is stripped down to bare metal, there will be no hidden problems. Later this week, the car will be going off to the steam cleaners to remove all the mud and oil and get it ready for media blasting. As you can see, we have our work cut out for us but are eager to get this car restored and back on the road. Please be sure to check back and follow our progress on this rare Triumph.
