The Daimler SP250 “Dart” restoration is now complete! The car came out absolutely beautiful and it’s hard to believe it is even the same car we started with. There were a lot of challenges in this restoration due to the rarity of the vehicle. Many parts were available through a number of suppliers, but some were just impossible to find. Many of the smaller parts had to be fabricated. For more background on the project, check out our previous posts.
Now that the car is done, it’s amazing to see how well it all came together. The colors our client chose look absolutely beautiful on the car. The interior turned out absolutely amazing. The interior kit was supplied by Bryan Purves Limited in West Sussex England, and he did a terrific job.
I was not a huge fan of these cars until I drove this one, and I have to say it is one of the best British sports cars I have ever driven. The car has a great, solid feel to it and with the 2500cc V8 motor, the car has plenty of power and a wonderful sound. It is very comfortable and a car I would not mind driving in road rallies and long trips.
We hope to see this car driven and enjoyed for many years to come. Please feel free to ask questions and leave comments.
That`s a great restoration project, the Daimler SP250 looks beautiful. Just out of interest`s how much would it cost for a car like that fully restored?
Hi John,
As you can see a restoration job like this is a lot of work. The most expensive part on this restoration was the body because it was in such bad shape. A complete job would cost over $50,000.
