The Daimler Dart project is well on its way and has come a long way since we started. At this point, the car we’ve completed all the mechanical work and is an excellent running and driving vehicle. The little 2500cc V8 sounds great and sure makes this little car scoot.
As you can see, all of the chrome and rubber is on the vehicle which really makes the gorgeous color stand out. We have also done a complete chrome wire wheel conversion with period correct redline tires. The stock wheels for the Daimler Dart are not very attractive so the chrome wires have really made the car look great. They are definitely not cheap, but well worth the money spent.
The next step in this restoration process is to get the upholstery all finished up. For this task we are turning to Bryan Purves in the UK to make up the kit. Bryan is an expert at classic auto interiors and specializes in the Daimler Dart. We have been going back and forth with color samples but we hope we come up with a combination our client will like. The interior will be all red with a red top. Once done, we think it will look great against the color the customer has chosen for the paint. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have or leave a comment.
can you tell me where to go the rubber for the car? I just bought a stripped 62 sp250 and theres no rubber.
Thanks
Bruce
We have been using Brayn Purves (http://www.bryanpurves.co.uk/Dart.html) He has been great to deal with.
